Your Mom has likely done more for you than anyone else in your life, so it’s natural to want to spoil her on Mother’s Day! But just because you want to give Mom everything she deserves (and more), doesn’t mean you have to spend an arm and a leg doing it. Here are some of our favorite ways to save big while giving Mom everything she deserves.
Start with Flowers
No matter what else you give, starting with flowers makes any gift feel luxurious, indulgent, and over the top. (Even if the flowers are the entire gift!) Plus, flowers are proven to make her happy. So we recommend starting with some blooms. We like to shop Bouqs.com deals when we’re looking for florals for our moms. And don’t forget, your bouquet should always be paired with a sweet note telling Mom how much she means to you.
Cook Her a Meal
Going out to eat is expensive, and the food you make with love at home often tastes so much better. So why not make Mom a Mother’s Day brunch yourself this year. If you have siblings, recruit them to help you and delegate, delegate, delegate! They should chip in for ingredient costs too. It ends up being an indulgent gift for a relatively low price tag.
Do Mom’s Favorite Activity
Has your mom been bugging you to join her for a yoga class, or to visit her book club? We know it’s hard to do those things when you’re busy, so Mother’s Day is the perfect time to make this particular dream come true. Since this will likely cost you very little (if anything), it’s a great idea to take her out to lunch afterward.
Shop Mother’s Day Sales Together
If you and your mom both like shopping for clothes, jewelry or something else, why not shop the Mother’s Day sales together? Tell your mom to pick out something (or multiple somethings) as your treat. She’ll think of you whenever she wears or uses it!
Make Something From Scratch
Most things you can buy, you can make a less expensive and higher quality version of! If your mom is really into soap, or candles, or chocolates (or all three), you could get her the very pricey artisanal versions of these items. Or, you could become the artisan and make them yourself! Another bonus is that you’ll probably have enough materials on hand to make extra, so you can give some to all of the other mother figures in your life like your aunts and grandmas, or that cherished high school soccer coach that you still stay in contact with.
Enjoy an Experience Together
At the end of the day, your mom just wants to be with you. So why not plan an entire outing with her? If she’s the sporty type, plan a day of tennis followed by a picnic lunch. Or, help her out in her garden. Anything she wants to do, just be by her side while she does it. We promise she’ll love it!
No matter how you decide to spoil your mom this Mother’s Day, remember that you don’t have to spend your entire paycheck to do it! She’ll love you no matter how much money you spend on her (and between us, it doesn’t have to be a lot)!
