Getting pregnant can be both an exciting and stressful time for many women. After all, you’re prepping your body to become a vessel for new life. If you’re trying for a baby with your partner, it’s important to make necessary healthy changes to your lifestyle. There are many lifestyle changes that you can make today to support your fertility and increase your chances of a smooth pregnancy. 

Keep to a regular sleeping routine

A good way to help improve your body and mind is by getting enough sleep each night. If you’re not getting enough sleep, then chances are you’re going to feel a lot worse throughout the day, with energy crashes and motivation levels at a low. 

The average amount of sleep in the UK is 6.66 hours, While that’s close to the recommended hours of sleep, it’s not quite enough. Ideally, you should be getting around 7-9 hours of sleep per night and it helps if you go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning.

Follow a nutritious diet

Your diet contributes hugely to your overall health and well-being, from promoting clearer skin to fighting diseases. It can also influence your fertility chances and the health of your child when he or she is born. 

Where you can, try to eat fewer foods with trans fat and more foods with monounsaturated fats, and keep your diet filled with protein and high-fiber foods.

Swap out bad habits

Similarly, women who smoke increase their chances of infertility with each cigarette. In fact, infertility rates in both men and women who smoke are about twice as high as nonsmokers.
