While the purple versions of the iPhone stole the show, Apple did make a few other announcements as well. The Apple AirTags were announced as well as refreshed versions of the 11 inch and 12.9-inch versions of the iPad Pro. There are also a few other colors announced for other Apple products that kind of fell under the radar after the event.
Should You Get a Purple iPhone 12?
If you saw photos of the purple iPhone 12 you must have noticed how non-intrusive the color is. It is not as flashy as some would picture a purple phone. You may also be looking at a Pro Max iPhone 12 if you want a larger screen. An iPhone 12 Pro Max purple may seem on paper like a great phone, especially if you are long overdue for an upgrade. There is some bad news if that would be your dream iPhone 12. Apple introduced the purple version only for two of their smartphones and the Pro Max is not one of them. Sadly, there is no iPhone 12 Pro Max purple version but there are two purple versions that you can choose from.
As the hardware difference between different versions of the iPhone is just the screen size, battery, and cameras, you are getting almost the same thing regardless of which version you are getting. Even the Mini is still a great smartphone to own but not everyone likes the small 5.4-inch screen.
Which iPhones You Can Get in Purple
As there is no iPhone 12 Pro Max purple version, you need to choose between the iPhone 12 Mini and the standard version of the iPhone 12 if you want the purple color. Apple did not announce any plans to introduce a purple version of the iPhone 12 Pro or the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both the Pro and the Pro Max share the same color options that are not available for the Mini and the standard iPhone 12. In simple words, you can get the Pro Max in either Graphite, Silver, Gold, or Pacific Blue. The Mini and the regular iPhone 12 can be purchased in White, Black, Blue, Green, Purple, or Red.
Is It Worth Getting The Regular iPhone 12 Over the Pro Max?
The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a triple camera setup compared to the dual cameras on the iPhone 12. They share the same front selfie camera and the same display technology. The hardware inside is the same. You do get a larger 6.7-inch screen on the Pro Max instead of a 6.1-inch screen.
The bottom line is that you are not getting much for spending extra to get a Pro Max. You should get the Pro Max only if you need a larger screen. If you want a purple one and hope for an iPhone 12 Pro Max in purple, you are out of luck. Your next best choice would be the standard purple iPhone 12.
