1. Keep A Clean, Neat Home

Mosquitoes are attracted to a lot of things, one of them is a dirty environment. You can always spot them around heaps of trash, or over dirty dishes. Therefore, it’s very important to maintain a clean environment at all times to reduce the influx of mosquitoes into your household.

2. Mosquito Repellents

One of mankind’s most thoughtful gifts for mankind. This comes in handy for quick action against invading mosquitoes. The mosquitoes can’t stand the repellents and die off immediately so for quick action, get the best mosquito repellents.

4. Mosquito Trap DIY

Just like we have the bear trap, mousetrap, etc., We also have the traps specially made for mosquitoes. And the best part is that you can do it yourself without spending a lot of money. Want to know how? Here are the steps you need to follow to create an effective mosquito trap

Materials:

  • Empty 2-liter bottle
  • Blade or razor knife
  • Duct tape
  • Black spray paint
  • Brown sugar
  • Hot water
  • A package of dry active yeast

Instructions:

  • Boil 2 cups of water and add the 2/3 cups of brown sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
  • Once the mixture is cooled, add yeast to the mixture and then, pour the mixture into your trap
  • Get your blade or razor knife to cut the top of the bottle. You will cut the top section of the bottle right above the paper on the bottle.
  • After cutting off the top part of the bottle, there should be two pieces to assemble your trap. (bottom cylinder and bottleneck).
  • Invert the bottom of the bottle till it resembles a “funnel.” (Don’t push the top of the bottle too much into the bottom one because there must be air between the liquid and the bottom of the bottle.)
  • Use duct tape to seal and secure your funnel.
  • Then get your black spray paint (or black construction paper) and spray the bottle. This will let less light in so the active yeast will not spoil and so the trap can camouflage with outdoor surroundings.
  • The last step is to set your trap out where the mosquitoes are active. The most common areas are under the shed or tree. Avoid putting it close to your desk or reading table.
  • Once the smell of the trap attracts the mosquitoes, they will drown in the mixture inside. Bye mosquitoes
