Strawberry Daiquiri
Frozen daiquiris have been around for almost as long as the invention of the electric blender. This fruity frozen cocktail gained popularity after being served at a bar in Havana in the 1920s. This traditional strawberry daiquiri recipe replicates frozen drink machine cocktails' velvety, frothy texture by blending frozen fruit and ice. If the strawberries you buy aren't sweet enough, you might have to add more simple syrup. If you're inclined, add a rum floater.
Instructions
- Put the frozen strawberries and ice into the blender. Use the low setting on the blender to crush the ingredients slightly. Mix the rum, simple syrup, lime juice, and salt. Begin by blending on low speed, gradually increasing the speed, and pausing occasionally to stir, if needed, until the mixture reaches a thick and slushy consistency. You can add more simple syrup to adjust the taste if you wish. Please promptly serve the beverages, optionally garnished with lime wedges and whole fresh strawberries.
