Mamma Self Care Tips for The Summer

Hey mamma – if you’re wondering how to get through this crazy summer without going crazy – we’re right there with you.

Now, if you want to make sure you don’t lose it completely – you’re going to need to carve out time for some self care – no matter how crazy life gets. And yes – wee know – the answer isn’t (always) wine on a rooftop with Dad.

Sometimes – you need real self care – the type that lasts – so here’s some tips on making it through this summer with the kiddos without losing your mind.

Calm The Crazy with Journaling

If you feel like you’re going to lose it and scream out loud, take a deep breath – it’s gonna be fine. You just need a moment breathe.

Journaling can be a life saver when it comes to saving your sanity. Write out what you’re feeling, why you’re feeling it and what the worst that could happen could be.

Then, when you’re done writing – let it go. Writing things out is powerful because it forces you to analyze what’s going on in your head, make sense of it and organize it in into words.

If you want to take the next step – you could even start blogging about it. I know – it sounds intimidating, but you could start a blog just like MamaBee – here’s a good blogging tutorial here – it’s easier than you think!

Take The Headache Out of Healthy Eating

If you’re worried about healthy eating this summer – don’t be. You can do this. Remember, healthy eating can be easy if you eat real whole foods and stick to a paleo-ish style food list.

You don’t have to make things complicated or create a 3 hour, 20 ingredient meal that you saw on Pinterest or TikTok.

You don’t have to be a super mom – you can just be a real, normal mom – who’s pretty busy sometimes and just wants to handle things for her kids without anyone tearing their hair out.

If you need a quick selection of keto snacks – this should tide you over so nobody gets into a family food fight in the car and someone says something they can’t take back.

Enjoy a Summer In an Outdoor Sauna

Okay – we know what you’re thinking – it’s already hot as heck in the summer – you want to make it hotter?

Yes – yes we do.

It’s a great way to stay fit and look athletic without having to spend hours in the gym.

Not only are saunas a fantastic way to detox and stay youthful, but it’s also a quiet, respite away from the noise and yelling that you’re going to get a lot of this summer. You might even rest so hard that you end up taking a nap (this may or may not have happened several times to us already).

If you want to take it up a notch – add in river swim or pool in between sauna sessions and your self care routine may never be the same. Don’t believe us – you really just need to try it.

Before you knock it, take a look at some of the photos of saunas on people’s properties. After about the third photo, you’re going to be thinking to yourself “maybe I might enjoy an outdoor sauna”.
