When you think of Las Vegas, you think of casinos, lights, and shows. What you may not think of is beaches. After all, Las Vegas doesn’t have any natural beaches and, not to mention, is a city in the desert. Well, it turns out, there are some amazing tourist-y, man-made beaches that you can still enjoy in the warm Las Vegas sun.
1. Voodoo Beach
Rio Hotel & Casino is home to Voodoo Beach, inspired by Copacabana Beach in Brazil. The relaxing atmosphere of Voodoo Beach is brought by its realistic beach sand, four swimming pools, waterfalls, two spas, and grottoes. It also features palm trees, cocktails, daybeds, cabanas, and music.
Voodoo Beach has free admission, however, costs $20 a person for non-hotel guests on the weekends. Those under the age of 21 or those without a valid I.D. must be accompanied by an adult.
2. Mandalay Bay Beach
Mandalay Bay Beach is located at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Their beach features 11 acres of fun. Enjoy their wave pool, float in the lazy river, check out the lagoon, grab a bite or drink, or reserve seating at one of its gazebos or cabanas.
At this time, access to Mandalay Bay Beach is only allowed to hotel guests. Presentation of a room key must be shown at time of entry. However, the good news is, getting to the hotel from your airport is easy with mandalay bay airport shuttle service, and there is no fee for entry.
3. Tahiti Village
Check out Tahiti Village Resort & Spa’s beach, Tahiti Village, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing island-like atmosphere. It features warm waters, hot tubs, a lazy river, grottoes, beautiful palm trees, and romantic waterfalls.
Tahiti Village is open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unfortunately, only hotel guests have access to the hotel’s beach, but entry is free of charge.
4. Boulder Beach
About 40 minutes from the strip lies Boulder Beach at Lake Mead. If you’re not much of a sand person, this beach might be for you as it features more of a rocky environment. Unlike many other Las Vegas beaches, Boulder Beach is pool toy-friendly, and kayaks are allowed.
It costs $25 to enter the Lake Mead recreation area to gain access to Boulder Beach. However, you can spend your entire day at Boulder Beach if you wish. The beach is open 24/7.
5. The Beach Club Pool
Another Las Vegas resort beach to consider is The Beach Club Pool at Flamingo Hotel. Unlike many other resort beaches in Vegas, Flamingo Hotel offers one of the most affordable options. Here, you will find incredible waterfalls, pools, waterslides, and a tropical Caribbean-inspired environment. You also have the opportunity to play water volleyball or basketball.
The beach can be accessed for free for hotel guests from 8am to 6pm every day of the week or $10 per person for non-guests.
Conclusion
Las Vegas may not be known for natural beaches since it doesn’t contain any. However, it sure holds some of the best man made beaches for tourists to visit and enjoy. Voodoo Beach, Mandalay Bay Beach, Tahiti Village, Boulder Beach, and Willow Beach are some of the many beach options in Las Vegas.
