How To Use Coffee Grounds To Get Rid of Insects Around Your Home?

There are different opinions about the health benefits of coffee. I drink one or two coffees a day, and I’m doing just fine.

The health could be in the red alarming zone when you over consume it. And no, won’t lead you to a heart condition.

If you had your dose of coffee in the morning, it’s time to get the used coffee grounds and use them again.

Let me show you how:

Fertilizer

The nitrogen level in the coffee grounds makes them a fantastic fertilizer. Mix the coffee grounds with the soil for better results. The procedure will stimulate the growth of microbes in the ground. After they break down, the nitrogen will pick the things up and provide all the needed nutrients for the plants.

Compost

The nitrogen level can also help in the compost. It will give energy so it can break down organic items more efficiently.

On top of that, the coffee grounds will speed up the composting process while eliminating the bad odor.

Throw the coffee grounds in the compost bin and the magic will happen.

Mosquito Repellent and Insecticide

It will be the most necessary thing this summer. You would want to stay protected from these insects.

Mosquitos and other insects can’t stand the strong odor of the coffee grounds.

If you want to protect your house from these “dangerous” insects, you should equip your home with coffee grounds on still bodies of water near your house.

Another thing you can do is mix hot water with coffee grounds and transfer the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray it all over your house and yard.

Staining Wood

Here is something new you can do. Coffee grounds are known as one of the greatest wood strainers. The wood will shine in an incredibly beautiful and natural tone.

Collect leftover coffee grounds in a container and pour boiling water over it. Let it sit for at least two hours or overnight. Filter out the coffee grounds while pouring over the mixture into a different container.

Soak a paintbrush in it and apply it to the wood. Apply the mixture a few times. Wait for ten minutes between layers.
