How To Prevent Your Food From Spoiling?

Spoiled food. Yuck. I hate spoiled food as much as you hate it.

It’s very rare in our house food to be left out to spoil. But it happens. Sometimes.

Spoiled food comes with a “dangerous” tag on it. Of course, it depends on the food that is spoiled, but most of them taste gross.

Have you ever tried spoiled food? I have. That was my first and last time.

I don’t know what happened, but I was hungry for a healthy protein dosage. I saw a few eggs. I thought this is it. This is what I need.

I took the eggs to make an omelet when I saw they are hard-boiled.

Who in the world will boil eggs and not eat them?

It wasn’t important in the moment. I decided to eat them up like that. The first bite seemed strange. The second bite was the “red-alert” button.

My family never said who left the eggs.

This incident happened a year or two ago.

Back to the main topic here. I’ve found few tips that will help you out. You will never have to throw away food anymore.

Do you know what this means?

  •      Fresh and healthy food all the way!
  •      Saving money!

Keeping this in mind, can we proceed to the tips?

Of course, we can. Here are the tips I was telling you about.

  1. Honey

Honey lasts longer if stored in a tightly sealed glass jar and put in a cool area.

  1. Eggs

My favorite food can be frozen as any other products. Crack them in an ice-cube container and use when needed

  1. Tomato Sauce

No, not that tomato sauce you buy in the stores. I’m talking about the natural home-made one.

Put it into a freezer bag and let it freeze. After an hour, the tomato sauce should be frozen. You can separate the sauce into individual portions with a knife and use it when needed.

  1. Bananas

Some people don’t like their bananas brown. A simple trick could help you out. Wrap their stem up of the banana in a cling wrap and they will be good for a longer period of time.

  1. Herbs

“Sprinkle” the herbs with olive oil and freeze them up. They will last forever.

  1. Celery, Broccoli, and Lettuce

Again, this food doesn’t last long. However, if you wrap them up in an aluminum foil and store them in the fridge, they will last longer.

  1. Potatoes, onions, and apples

Store them separately and you will be good. Their shelf-lifespan is reduced if they are stored together.

  1. Onions

Take a pair of nylon stockings and tie a knot between every onion. It could last up to 8 months.

  1. Berries

Place the fresh berries in the bowl with water and vinegar. Keep the ratio 10:1. Drain them in a sieve for 5 minutes. Let them dry.

This will kill off the small microorganisms and extend their life

  1. Carrots

The orange root will last forever if you store it in the dark in the sand.

  1. Pineapple

Right after you buy it, remove the crown and store the pineapple on its head. This will make the pineapple live longer.

Do you have some storing tips up in your sleeve? Share it with us! We want to use it.

These are perfect for your friends, too. Tell me one reason why you wouldn’t share this with them?
