Gimlet
The original gimlet consisted of only two ingredients: gin and Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice, a concentrated lime juice in a bottle. Modern cocktail variations often feature fresh lime juice and simple syrup as their primary ingredients for a crisper taste. With such a limited ingredient list, the gimlet is all about finding the proper combination of sour, sweet, and boozy. Ensure to select a gin that you enjoy, ideally a dry variety with a hint of floral or citrus, as its flavour will be prominent in this beverage.
Instructions
- Place ice in a cocktail shaker, filling it approximately two-thirds of the way. Combine the gin, lime juice, and simple syrup. After putting the lid on the shaker, shake it vigorously for 30 seconds.Strain the drink into a coupe glass, then add a lime wheel as a garnish. Serve immediately.

Tip
Put a cocktail glass in the freezer for at least half an hour before serving, or fill it with ice and let it sit at room temperature for five to ten minutes for a quicker alternative.
