This to me is a very silly question – of course, I really – really like waffles! In fact, I love waffles with whipped cream, with fruit topping, with bacon backed into it, with jam (waffle makers do a remarkable job of cooking the meat right alongside with the batter). Best of all, I really love the simple and delicious taste of waffles with Maple Syrup and Butter! So, I ask, do you love waffles?
Two of the finest waffle recipes that we utilize is the well-known “Oh Boy Waffle Recipe” and sour dough waffles recipe. Just for fun, I’ll include both waffle recipes for your enjoyment with your new waffle makers.
Oh, Boy Waffle Recipe:
Sift entire of the ingredients jointly:
- 4 t baking powder
- 1/4 C sifted flour
- 1 1/2 T sugar
- 3/4 t salt
Mix in a big bowl
- 3/4 Coil
- 2 1/4 C milk (can be a bit more if you wish the batter to be more thinner)
- 2 Eggs – beaten
Mix all the liquid ingredients jointly well – then putt the shifted dry ingredients all at once and mix gently. (Note – Don’t over mix).
Pour into a greased hot waffle maker and bake approximately four minutes or until steam is no longer escaping form the edges of the waffle maker.
Sour Dough waffles or Pancakes
Set out three or four cups of basic butter out overnight to work
In the morning begin with adding:
- 2 T oil
- 3/4 C milk
- 1/4 C evaporated milk
Combine thoroughly prior to adding to the above:
- 2 T sugar
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
Let the mixture to reset 20 to 30 minutes, then bake on a greased, hot waffle maker or cook on a hot griddle.(Note –any fresh can be blended and added to the batter).
Sour Dough Starter
- One packet dry yeast 2 C halfhearted water
- Two C flour 1 t salt
- 1/2 C little warm water (for yeast) 1 T sugar
In a medium sized mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in little warm water. Stir in the flour, water, sugar and salt. Beat smooth and let situate uncovered at usual room temp 4 to 5 days, stirring two or three times every day. Cover at night to avoid the mix from drying out. (It’ll bubble and make some sounds – children love to watch this process).
To remain starter alive –
Add half C sifted flour, 1 t sugar and 1/2 C water to the leftover starter and let the starter at room temp till bubbly and very well-fermented, at least two days. Cove and placed in a cool place like refrigerator till utilized again. If the starter is not utilized within 10 to 14 days, add I t sugar to keep it alive. Repeat every fourteen days. That’s it!
