Amaro and Cocoa Manhattan
This cocktail is a delightful twist on the classic Manhattan, featuring a blend of rye whiskey and amaro with a touch of bitters. However, it takes some delightful detours with the addition of chocolate liqueur for a mellow accent and a hint of cardamom for a touch of spice.You can also experiment by substituting coffee liqueur for the chocolate, which works wonderfully. This cocktail is a creation from the 18th Room in New York, where it goes by the name "Before Night Falls."
Instructions
- Begin by filling a mixing glass with ice cubes. Add the rye whiskey, Averna amaro, crème de cacao or liqueur, and bitters. Stir the mixture for about 20 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a cocktail glass and garnish it with a pinch of cardamom.
