When you become anxious it can sometimes feel like you can not get your brain to calm down. This can be very scary and it is very important to ground yourself and bring yourself back to reality. The 3-3-3 rule is a great way to do just that. When you start to panic look around the room and find 3 things you can see. Then say them out loud. Then find three sounds you can hear and say out loud what those are. The last thing is to think of three body parts you can move and then move them. When this is over you should be back in control of yourself

  1. Take Deep Breaths

Take deep breaths in your nose and out your mouth. Concentrate on your breathing and your stomach rising and falling. Think of nothing but your breathing this should help to soothe your anxiety.

  1. Take a Relaxing Bath

Next time you feel your anxiety starting to climb take some time for yourself and take a relaxing bath. If you have candles light them and turn off the overhead lights. Also, invest in bath bombs or bath salts infused with lavender. The aromatherapy of the lavender will make you feel so much better.
