There is a thing called distracting relationship and word on the street is that you won’t want to drag yourself into it.
Now when I mention this thing, I want to tell you that I don’t want to make you think about it. Searching for these signs in your partner or relationship is the last thing I would want to do.
Keep in mind that I want only the best thing for you and to pull yourself out of something that damages your well-being.
With that being said, let’s proceed with the main topic today.
So, a distracting relationship. What does it mean?
It means when you lose the captain of the ship. There is no one left that knows how to steer to the right direction. The ship goes widely through the endless sea and lets the waves be the ones that show its path.
Being in a loving relationship is awesome, but when something becomes more important than God, well, it becomes a distraction. God tells us to love each other, but as an act of obedience to God. Don’t forget about him through the whole love process. You need to make sure you mention and show your appreciation and love to God.
Ask yourself if you are honoring God and “Have I grown in my faith and closer to the Lord as a result of being in this relationship?”
Here are the five signs that will help you figure out some things.
You Have No Time for God
If it’s difficult for you to find the perfect timing to pray and visit the church, you are stuck in the distracting relationship.
You Slowly Moved God from The Center of Your Relationship
Forgetting that God is the center of everything, will lead you to a different path. If you are putting all hopes in that person you are with at the moment; it’s clear that Christ is not the center of your relationship.
The Bible is clear:
“Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:22)
You Feel More Guilty Than Good
How do you feel when you are with your partner? If it feels that this person is a distraction, then, it’s like that because he probably is. If you feel more guilty that you are with him more than good, this confirms the things that you are in a distracting relationship.
Unequally Yoked
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has a light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14).
You can’t date someone you love, but he is serving the devil.
The Relationship Is Going Nowhere
If you think about your relationship all the time and what it means for your life, you are probably concerned about something. Ask yourself whether you stay in that relationship because you are afraid of starting things over and whether you are comfortable in it or not.
Sometimes these reasons are not enough.
