5 Most Common Infectious Diseases

There are various types of diseases all over the world; some have cures, while some have medications that help people manage the damage. People all over the world suffer from one severe disease or the other, and while scientists work every day to get the cure for most conditions; more dangerous diseases continue to be discovered around the world. Infectious diseases are diseases which are caused by infections in the blood, on the body or in other organs of the body as the case may be. Infectious diseases are diseases caused by potent organisms known as fungi, parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Some of these organisms take refuge in our bodies and may stay dormant for a long time until another disease or illness trigger them.

Sometimes, these organisms roam in the air, and we breathe them in, while other times they stay in meals, and we eat them. Either way, there are organisms everywhere around us, and while some people have active immune systems to battle these organisms, other people have weak immune systems that over time, become vulnerable to these diseases. There are so many common infectious diseases that we see and hear of every day, and they are infectious/contagious because they can be transmitted from one sick patient to another person. Diseases like this take a while to get treated, and when they are not easily detected, they could lead to worse things like death. When the immune system fails to fight off organisms in the body, it makes the red and white blood cells susceptible to destruction. This has been the case of many people all over the world whose immune system became weak over time to keep away these diseases, and at the end of the day, they bodies start reacting to it. Some of the common infectious diseases that have been known to be quite dangerous and brutal on human beings once they have their way include:

Tuberculosis

This is a severe disease that is caused by a known bacteria which dwells in the lungs for a long time and soon causes severe chest pain when coughing. This infectious disease is responsible for 95% of deaths in the world. WHO also describes this disease as the second cause of death all over the world. People often associate TB with chronic cough thereby treating it mildly or with inefficient drugs, but once this disease gets to the point of no return, it destroys the immune system of its patients. A drug known as Augmentin can treat this disease.

Dengue

Dengue is not like malaria, but it is caused by a different type of mosquito known as Aedes Aegypti. This infectious disease is prevalent in environs around Africa, and over 50 million people all over the world have this disease. Dengue is the disease that causes severe high fever in people and muscle pains too. There is a specific drug that is administered to people suffering from Dengue fever, and when applied correctly and at the right time, can save people from death. Augmentin is a common drug used to treat any bacterial infection.
