Doing laundry is the easiest thing in the world. It seems like that. There is nothing complicated here. You read the label of the clothes, set the right method on the washing machine, and let them spin for a while.
A piece of cake.
Whenever you do the same simple thing, you have the feeling that something is wrong. You can’t be doing anything right because the clothes are not as clean as they should be. The smell is not refreshing like the detergent says.
Something is wrong, and you can’t figure it out.
There is a big chance that you are making mistakes while doing laundry.
As a matter of fact, we all do. Sometimes we are doing it on purpose to see what happens.
A couple of nights ago I decided to do laundry and wash only colored clothes. I saw my husband’s shirt and didn’t seem like I could put it in there.
That’s when a thought came through my mind: I will never know if I don’t try, right?
That shrunk and its perfect fit for our Labrador now.
To make the story short, I owe him a new shirt now.
If you want to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again, you need to follow these instructions.
They are here to fix you up, and you will be able to see and feel the difference after the first time.
Here we go:
1. Improper Sorting
Make sure you pay attention to the color and the fabric of the clothes.
2. Lifting Stains in the Wrong Way
Don’t scrub the stains. You could force the fabric color out. Do it gently.
3. Using Too Much Washing Powder
This causes too much foam and you are risking the clothes to become dirtier.
4. Forgetting About Zippers
Zip them up if you want to prevent them from ruining the clothes.
5. Buttoning Clothes
Remember to unbutton the shirts before putting them into the washer.
6. Using too Much Bleach
Using too much bleach won’t make the clothes better. In fact, it will make them less durable and can tear easily.
7. Laundering Swiming Suits in the Washing Machine
The correct way is to wash them by hand.
8. Giving the Washing Machine a Time to Rest
That’s not needed. Using the washing machine without a break reduces the electricity consumption as it uses the same heat remaining after the previous cycle.
9. Using Only One Cycle on Blankets and Pillows
Use two for the best results.
10. Washing Clothes Without Sorting them Out
Stop searching for the matching socks!
11. Using fabric softeners on Towels
It reduces the absorption capacity of the towels.
12. Washing too Many Clothes at Once
It can lead to a breakdown.
13. Washing Windbreakers and Anoraks the Wrong Way
Just put three tennis balls in there. They will help you get rid of the foam, as well.
14. Using Expensive Washing Powders and Liquids
Search for households items that could do the same thing effectively.
15. Not Paying Attention to the Washer
It’s important to pay attention to the washing machine. That’s how you make its life longer. Make sure you clean it once in a while and rub that possible residue that covered some important parts.
Implement these new things while doing laundry. Let your family come to you and ask what did you do to make their clothes so smooth and fresh.
